Ryan Svoboda and Brianna Castillo, two of our Dermatology Fellows, attended the 2018 Southeastern Consortium (SEC) of Dermatology held at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, November 2-4, 2018. 

Adam Brys, MD, second year resident, presented an oral presentation and abstract on stage II and stage III melanoma patients at the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery in Phoenix, AZ.

Dr. Elise Olsen, Professor of Dermatology and Medicine, has received the 2018 International League of Dermatological Societies Certificate of Appreciation for International Leadership.

Our residents Diana Norton and Mary Ramirez presented at the North Carolina Dermatology Summer Meeting in July.

Our Dermatology researchers had a presence at the International Investigative Dermatology meeting that took place in May.

Resident Diana Norton has been selected to receive a Resident International Grant from the American Academy of Dermatology to participate in a four to six week elective in Botswana where the Education and Volunteers Abroad Committee (EVAC) has established dermatology support programs and teledermatology consulting services.

Duke Dermatology has an opening for a Dermatitis Fellow beginning July 1, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center.

Two of our residents, Jigar Patel and Diana Norton, participated in the North Carolina Dermatology Meeting in Charleston, SC January 19-21.

Dr. Marilia Oliveira, our third year resident, had her second paper with Dr. Christopher Sayed (UNC) accepted for publication at Dermatology Surgery. 

Ryan Thorpe has matched in Mohs surgery to start in July 2018.  His training program will be The Zitelli and Brodland Fellowship for Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology in Pittsburgh, PA.
